Felt a tingly feeling in his instep
No idea what it was or what to do
Stood up and said, "Foot, can you hear me?"
Gettin' angry at the thing inside his shoe

Said to Jeffy, "It's time for an adventure
To figure out what happened to my foot"
Made some sandwiches and put 'em in a briefcase
And his quest is what this song is all about

We just made it up

Left his home and approached a vacant news stand
Which is owned by a surly man named Bruce
Well, golly gee, he was lookin' for some answers
